The Chinese rufous horseshoe bat ranges from South Asia through China and Vietnam. It is reported from rainy montane forests.
The back is wood-brown and may be reddish, while the underside is paler. The ears are relatively small, and the nose bears the characteristic horseshoe-shaped leaf of the genus.
It mainly catches insects in flight and sometimes hunts from a perch. It roosts in caves, old tunnels, buildings, and tree hollows, leaving after dusk.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
