The São Tomé Thrush lives in forests on São Tomé. It searches among leaf litter, where beetles, snails, worms, and fruit have been recorded in its diet.
Compared with the Príncipe Thrush, the São Tomé population is larger, has dark legs and a mostly dark bill, paler and finer scaling below, dark-brown to reddish eyes, and no yellow eye-ring.
It forages on the forest floor among leaf litter. Beetles, snails, worms, and fruit have been recorded in the diet of the São Tomé population.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
