The dorsal fur ranges from grayish brown to reddish, darker along the midline and paler at the sides. Narrow dark rings surround the eyes. The underside varies from whitish to orange, and the tail is about 1.2 times the combined head-and-body length.
The species account lists records from seasonally flooded grasslands, marshy areas, and buildings. It provides no information about feeding or activity, so more detailed habitat use and behavior remain unknown.
