The Somali hedgehog is known from a small number of sites in northern Somalia. Dark spines on its back contrast with pale belly fur, while details of its life in the wild remain poorly documented.
Dark spines cover the back, while the underside has white to buffy-white hairs, with dark patches toward the rear. The forehead is white and the face has a black mask.
The source gives no detailed field records of this species' behavior or food. Habits of related hedgehogs cannot be presented as observations of the Somali hedgehog.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
