The common cusimanse is a small mongoose relative of West African forests. It lives in groups and searches among leaf litter and rotting logs for small animals and fruit.
It has a slender body, short legs and tail, a long snout and small rounded ears. Its brown, gray and yellow tones vary among individuals.
Cusimanses live in groups and use contact calls. They search the forest floor and rotting logs with their snouts and claws for small prey, and also eat fruit and berries.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
