This warbler inhabits pine woodland in western Cuba. Its yellow-green forehead and dark breast streaks are useful field marks, and it often uses the upper canopy. A Cuban study recorded it in lower strata only during breeding.
The forehead is yellow-green, with no prominent white eyebrow, and dark streaks mark the sides of the breast.
A 2007 survey recorded the warbler most often in the upper canopy. It appeared in lower strata only during the breeding season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
