This mouse is recorded in the fog-covered coastal lomas of southern Peru. In the study sites, it was found more often in shrub associations sustained by fog moisture.
Its dorsal fur ranges from yellow-brown to gray-brown, and white hairs occur on the legs.
The survey caught it more often in shrub associations that gather fog moisture; records were less frequent in dense brush.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
