Wahlberg's epauletted fruit bat has a dog-like face and eats fruit. Males use white shoulder tufts in courtship, and groups rest by day in hollow trees or under large leaves.
Its face resembles a dog's, and its coat ranges from gray-brown to russet. Both sexes have a white patch near each ear; males also have white shoulder tufts and neck sacs.
By day it rests in groups that include males and females, using hollow trees, large leaves, or building eaves. It may move to a different roost every few days.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
