The Papuan Whipbird is a poorly known forest bird of New Guinea’s central mountains. Its green back and black throat stand out, and the male has a white stripe on the cheek.
The male has a dark green head and back, a black face side, throat, and breast, a white moustachial cheek stripe, and a gray belly. Females lack the white stripe and have gray throats and breasts; juveniles resemble females but are duller.
It eats insects and other arthropods, foraging on the ground and on branches close to the ground. The account reports no detailed breeding information.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
