The Banahao Tree-Mouse is known from the southern slope of Mt. Banahaw on Luzon, Philippines. Its rusty-orange coat and long tail are distinctive.
The fur is rusty orange, darker on the back and paler underneath. It has a compact body, a large head, a short blunt muzzle, and a long tail with elongated hairs near the tip.
The holotype was trapped in a forested area near a stream, on intersecting lianas about 2.5 m above the ground. The capture site also had regenerating lowland forest and farmland, so this single record does not establish a habitat preference.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
