The adult male described had a fold of skin along each side of the body between the front and back legs. The scales on the underside of the back legs of the adult male described were smooth. It lives in wet high-elevation grassland on the western slopes of the Andes in southern Ecuador. Near Lake Chillacocha, individuals have been found active mainly under stones from 14:00 to 17:00. It is recorded around Lake Chillacocha, in wet high-elevation grassland on the western slopes of the southern Ecuadorian Andes.
