The Sombre Tit is a small bird with a dark brown-black head and white cheeks. It occurs from southeastern Europe into southwestern Asia, including open woodland and orchards.
The crown, nape, and chin are dark brown-black, while the cheeks are white and the chest and belly are whitish gray. The sexes show little difference in plumage.
It favors orchards, grassland dotted with trees or shrubs, and open woodland. It eats insects and their larvae, spiders and other invertebrates, as well as seeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
