This small lemur occurs in northeastern Madagascar. Its reddish-brown head has a white stripe from between the eyes to the forehead. Many study records came from Madagascar cardamom stands and forest edges.
The head is rufous, with darker fur around the eyes. A white stripe runs between the eyes toward the forehead; the dark eye area varies among individuals.
In the northeastern Madagascar study, most captured individuals were in 2–4 m stands of perennial Madagascar cardamom, sometimes mixed with trees along forest edges.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
