The Little Ground Tyrant is a small flycatcher of broad river beaches and mudflats. In 2014, one bird was recorded on a sandbar of the Napo River in Ecuador; the paper considered it a non-breeding visitor.
It is tan above and pale below, with a black tail and white outer tail feathers that are conspicuous in flight.
It searches for food on the ground or from low shrubs along broad river beaches and mudflats. A single bird photographed on an Ecuadorian Napo River sandbar in 2014 was interpreted as a non-breeding visitor.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
