Tristram’s jird lives in dry steppe from the eastern Mediterranean into the Middle East. Its boundary from a close relative remains debated.
The dorsal coat is pale reddish to yellowish brown, the underside is whitish, and the tail is relatively short.
It eats seeds and grains as well as leaves and stems. The account records steppe and dry areas with soft soils as habitat.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
