Johnston’s dormouse is a small dormouse recorded in southern Malawi. It is described as nocturnal and arboreal.
The back is covered in short, soft, dark gray fur, while the underside is gray to creamy gray. The account also notes rounded, short ears and a long tail fringed with hairs that project sideways.
The species account describes it as nocturnal, arboreal, and omnivorous. One individual was found in a farmhouse roof near Namadzi in 1984; this is a single record, not evidence that it commonly lives in houses.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
