The Nicobar treeshrew is restricted to Great Nicobar and Little Nicobar islands in India. A study on Great Nicobar found it active in trees and feeding mainly on insects.
One adult male observed on Great Nicobar was dark brown to reddish brown from the back to the tail, with paler underparts and no conspicuous facial or shoulder markings.
During fieldwork on Great Nicobar from October 2001 to February 2002, it was observed by day, often in trees, and feeding mainly on insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
