The Libyan jird is a rodent of dry areas from North Africa to the Middle East. It has a sandy back and pale feet, and makes burrows near plants.
The back is sandy to yellowish, and the underside is white or pale. The feet are usually white, though some individuals have an orange stripe on a foot.
It spends much of its time in burrows and comes out to eat grass seeds and leaves. It may stomp its feet to warn other jirds of danger.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
