This bat is recorded from southern India and Sri Lanka. Its original description gives pale seal-brown dorsal fur and a lighter underside. In Sri Lanka, one male was reported roosting in a leaf in secondary forest.
The fur is long and silky, pale seal-brown above and lighter below. It does not extend onto the wing or the membrane between the hind legs and tail. The original account also distinguished it from K. hardwickii by its smaller, less notched ears, shorter wings, and darker color.
In Sri Lanka, one male was recorded roosting in a furled banana leaf in a patch of secondary forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
