The Lark-like Bunting lives in dry areas of southern Africa. Both sexes have pale buff-brown streaked plumage, and the birds may move as conditions change.
Adults are pale buff-brown with dark brown streaks on the back and breast. The sexes are alike; juveniles are paler and have a mottled breast.
It forms flocks, often near water, and eats seeds and insects. It is nomadic in dry country and may appear outside its usual range in very dry years.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
