This weaver lives in and around Tanzania’s Serengeti. Its brown plumage looks scaly where pale feather edges overlap, and a dry-season study found it using open grassland.
It is mostly brown, with pale feather edges that create a scaly look. The upper bill is brown; the lower bill can be yellowish in some individuals.
In a dry-season study in Serengeti National Park, the birds selected open grassland over Acacia habitat and ate both insects and seeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
