Büttner’s African Forest Mouse is a small rodent with dark brown to gray-brown fur above and pale gray fur below. It is known from only two specimens collected in Togo in 1890.
The upper fur is dark brown or gray-brown and the underside is pale gray. The ears are small and furry; the long, scaly tail is naked.
Its behavior is almost unknown. It is thought to be terrestrial, and its diet is presumed to include insects at least in part.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
