In adult males, the dorsal skin is shagreened and scattered with fine, round tubercles. In adult males, the toes have rudimentary webbing and wide lateral fringes on all toes. In adult males, the tympanum is distinct and round, with its rim distinctly elevated above the surrounding temporal skin. On 5 May 2016, the male holotype was found calling under leaf litter near a small clear-water rocky stream. During the survey on 10 June 2017, calling males were widespread along the stream and riparian forest. Both records are from the type locality in Yingjiang County, Yunnan. It has been recorded at the type locality in Jinzhuzhai Village, Tongbiguan Town, Yingjiang County, Yunnan, China.
