This small tyrant-flycatcher occurs on the eastern Andean slopes of Peru and Bolivia. It uses the canopy of humid montane forest, and its gray crown and yellow-washed underparts help identify it.
It is about 10 cm long. The back is olive, the crown grayish, and the eyebrow thin and pale. The throat is grayish, grading to yellow toward the rest of the underparts. Gray wing coverts have broad olive-brown edges.
It forages in the canopy of humid montane forest. Peru Aves gives Peruvian records on the southeastern Andean east slope at 900–1,200 m.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
