This small brown bird is recorded in the rainforests of northeastern Australia. It moves through low and middle levels of the forest, searching mainly for insects.
Its plain brown plumage is darker on the back and paler below. The pale buff face makes the dark eye conspicuous, and the bill is long, slender, straight, and black.
It may occur in small mixed flocks or family parties. In the lower and middle rainforest, it searches branches, trunks, and material caught in vines, feeding mainly on insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
