A slender pied hornbill with a long yellow bill. It searches for small animals on the ground and in low bushes.
The male has a larger bill than the female; the female’s casque is smaller. Juveniles have a duller yellow bill with brown spots.
It picks insects and other food from the ground, low branches, and leaf litter. It usually lives in pairs or small family groups, but may move for food in areas with long dry seasons.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
