Christina's Margareta Rat is recorded from Mount Moserosero in southeastern Sulawesi. The original description was based on one adult male, and its appearance was described from field photographs and notes.
The head and back have long, soft, dense dark brownish-tawny fur. There is no conspicuous facial mask; the muzzle, chin, and throat are grayish white, while the rest of the underside is grayish buff. The proximal two-thirds of the tail is grayish brown and the distal third white, ending in a tuft.
One adult male was trapped at 1,537 m in lower montane rainforest; the Sherman trap was placed 1.5 m above ground. The authors inferred nocturnality from the night capture but could not determine whether the species is usually arboreal, terrestrial, or active at other forest levels.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
