The red goral is a goat relative of the eastern Himalaya that shifts elevation within mountain forests as the seasons change.
Its coat is bright reddish brown, with paler fur on the throat and lower legs, a darker muzzle, and backward-curving horns in both sexes.
It uses mountain forest, moving toward the forest edge in summer and lower forest in winter as the snowline shifts; it feeds on shoots and leaves.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
