Ctenomys thalesi is a subterranean rodent known from two northeastern coastal localities in Chubut Province, Argentina. It has light olive-brown fur and a paler underside; much of its natural history remains unknown.
It is small, with dense, fine and soft light olive-brown fur that pales on the flanks. The underside is pale olive-buff, the upper feet have whitish hairs and the tail is short.
The paper says most of its natural history is unknown. The two known northeastern Chubut localities are near the Atlantic coast in low-cover Monte shrub steppe.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
