Adults have a notched tail and a bright yellow bend on the wing. Juveniles have a weaker eyebrow, brown breast streaks, and little or no yellow at the wing bend.
At La Cima, observers recorded moths, flying ants, earthworms, caterpillars, grass seeds, and sown oats among its foods.
