Gundlach's Hawk is a forest-associated hawk endemic to Cuba that preys on birds.
In a pair observed during breeding in 2022, the female was larger than the male and had a more intensely reddish breast.
In that pair, the female mainly defended and fed the nestlings, while the male mainly hunted and brought prey to them.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
