This small flycatcher inhabits Amazonian forest. A 1978 paper, using the former genus name Pipromorpha, recorded it singing by creeks and taking insects from foliage near Manaus.
It is greenish above and ochraceous below.
In forest at Reserva Ducke, it joined small insect-eating flocks and sallied to foliage for insects or fruit. It sang along forest creeks, and nests over creeks were reported.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
