A transverse pale marking on the underside of the abdomen is a distinguishing feature.
On 27 August 2011, males and females were collected in roadside forest near Moulandoufouala and in forest near Tchad south of Lambaréné.
In the described male, the upper front-body plate is ochre, with a brown rear mark and brown lateral margins. The abdomen has distinct black patterns above, on the sides, and below.
Males have a hump on each side just above the mouth, each bearing one to three cone-shaped hairs. The humps vary in distinctness. Females lack them.
In males, the sternum beneath the front body varies from entirely ochre-orange to entirely brown; some are dark brown at the front and ochre-orange behind.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
