This bat is recorded from the southwestern Colombian Andes. It has short, dark brown fur and no externally visible tail.
Its coat is short and crisp, and blackish brown overall. Dorsal hairs are pale gray over most of their base and brown at the tips.
The type locality lies within well-preserved Andean forest with large trees covered by epiphytes.
