The Regent Honeyeater has a black head and chest set against pale yellow plumage and yellow wing markings. It moves through southeastern Australia in search of flowering eucalypt woodland.
The head, neck, and upper chest are black, while the pale yellow feathers of the body have black edges. Yellow shows on the wing and tail edges, and pale skin surrounds the eye.
It feeds mainly on nectar from eucalypt flowers and travels widely to find woodlands with abundant blooms. When nectar is scarce, it also eats honeydew and insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
