The Bunchgrass Leaf-eared Mouse is known from high Andean grasslands in southern Peru and Bolivia. It is active at twilight and feeds on plants, seeds, and other small food items.
The back ranges from buff to dark brown and includes blackish hairs. The cheeks and sides are pale buff-orange, while the underside is usually dark gray. The tail is two-toned, and the ears are thinly furred.
It occurs at about 2,700–4,300 m in highland grassland with dense Stipa ichu. The treatment describes activity at twilight and a diet including plants, seeds, mycorrhizal fungal spores, and arthropods.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
