This bat is known from lowland western Madagascar, with records in the dry-deciduous forest zone. It may use wetter patches near rivers or marshes, but its roosting ecology remains uncertain.
Its prominent ears are funnel-shaped. The back has long, shaggy fur with buff-brown tips and gray bases, while the underside is lighter gray.
Known sites lie in dry-deciduous forest, including places near rivers, marshes, or forest transitions. A single Ravenala-leaf record does not establish regular roosting there.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
