This small parrot inhabits woodlands of northern Australia. It feeds on nectar and pollen and gathers in flowering trees.
The body is yellow-green, with red on the face and crown. Females have less extensive, darker red and less prominent breast streaking.
It visits flowering eucalypts and paperbarks for nectar and pollen, sometimes gathering in flowering trees.
