This small rodent is known from cloud forests in Colombia’s western Andes. It has long, soft, dark fur and a gray underside.
Its fur is long, thick, soft, and velvety; the upperparts are blackish and the underside dark gray.
Specimens were captured in cloud forest. Trapping records for the genus suggest terrestrial and nocturnal habits, but the authors caution that the evidence is inconclusive because traps were not set simultaneously in trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
