This forest bird occurs only on two islands in southern Fiji. It searches leaves and branches for insects and sometimes catches flying insects in the air.
The upperparts are dark slate gray, with a rufous wash on the tail and a buff tail tip. The underparts are dull pinkish cinnamon, with a paler pink throat.
It gleans insects from foliage from the forest floor to the canopy. It has also been seen hawking flying insects and climbing large branches and trunks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
