The Lenis Woolly Bat is known from few specimens. A bat documented in southern India in 2002 was reported as the first record since the original type from Calcutta.
The originally described specimen had a pale buff head and dark slaty-black bases occupying about three-fifths of the back hairs.
In 2002, one individual was captured at about 6:30 pm while flying inside a room of a disused building at about 800 m in the Courtallam Hills.
The rear margin of each ear has a distinct notch.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
