This small rodent is known from a limited number of sites in Peru and Bolivia. In the measured specimens, head-and-body length and tail length were almost equal.
The mean head-and-body length of three adults was about 98 mm, and mean tail length was about 97.7 mm. The tail was nearly as long as the body.
Specimens in the 2017 paper were collected in regenerating montane forest near farms and in cloud forest near Machu Picchu. Some were caught in pitfall traps. Few localities are known, so its natural history remains poorly documented.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
