The Jico Deermouse is an arboreal rodent of Mexican montane cloud forests. A 2011 study identified two extant populations, in Hidalgo and Oaxaca.
The 2011 paper calls it one of the smallest species in its genus and cites a body mass of 17–19 g. Sex and measurement conditions are not specified there.
It is arboreal. The 2011 study reported that its cloud-forest habitat is fragmented and that the two populations it sampled were strongly genetically differentiated.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
