Rhynchocyon stuhlmanni is an elephant-shrew relative of Congo Basin forests. The 2018 handbook account places it in northern DR Congo and Uganda and describes it as active on the forest floor by day.
Its back and rump have a checkered pattern, and its tail is white from near the base to the tip. Dorsal color varies geographically: yellow-brown in western DR Congo, dark brown in eastern DR Congo, and gray-brown in Uganda.
It lives in Congo Basin forest where the canopy is closed and leaf litter is dense. It is fully terrestrial and diurnal, feeding on invertebrates, mostly arthropods.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
