A small rodent recorded in high-elevation areas of Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. It has a yellow-brown back, a pale underside, and a short tail.
The back is yellowish brown with fine black hairs, the underside white to ochraceous, and the tail shorter than the body.
Limited observations describe it as diurnal and mainly insectivorous. It is associated with open grassy and rocky highland places.
