The eBird/Merlin account places the Chami Antpitta in high-elevation cloud forest in Colombia’s western Andes. It also notes that the species was once treated as one form within the broader Rufous Antpitta group.
It is dark chestnut brown all over, with long legs and a short tail.
It usually stays on the ground in the dark understory of high cloud forest, but may move a little higher when singing.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
