Goldman's Water Mouse was described from the Pirri Mountains of eastern Panama. The first specimen was collected near the headwaters of the Río Limón at about 1,370 m, and the reported specimens were from high slopes of Mount Pirri.
The original description calls it small, with short, glossy dark fur and a back finely grizzled with black and cinnamon. The toes are dull white, and the hind foot has brownish fringing hairs.
Goldman described specimens collected on the upper slopes of Mount Pirri. These records document a high-elevation locality, but the original account alone does not establish detailed feeding or breeding behavior.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
