The Yellow-green Vireo normally breeds in Mexico and Central America and winters in lowland tropical forest in South America. Nesting in Texas is rare, and a few fall records on the California coast are thought to be birds that went the wrong way.
The sexes look similar. The back is bright yellow-green, with brighter yellow on the sides and undertail coverts.
It searches among foliage for insects and often hovers briefly to pick them from the undersides of leaves.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
