This macaque is recorded in the mountains of northeastern India. A yellow forehead patch and fur that lightens over the upper body and forelimbs help identify it.
Its long, dense dark-brown fur lightens over the upper body and forelimbs. A yellow forehead patch contains a whorl of dark hairs, and males are bulkier than females.
In high-elevation broadleaf forest, it forages on the ground and nests in trees. It has also been reported feeding in agricultural areas.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
