The masked white-tailed uromys is a rat of a restricted area of rainforest in north-eastern Australia.
It is smaller than the larger white-tailed rat that shares its range. Its tail is longer than its head and body and has a white tip.
It has been captured in ground traps and uses dense vegetation on moist slopes, gullies and streamsides. It feeds on insects in decaying logs and on resources such as aerial roots and sap.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
